Star Wars: Frames, is a collection of isolated stills, or “frames,” from each of the six Star Wars films, hand selected by George Lucas, focusing on them as works of photography and design and reproduced in two large-format books.
The packaging is designed as a grand object that can be displayed on its own as a piece of Star Wars memorabilia, and houses two large volumes of images. To reference the classic and iconic design of futuristic interior and exterior spaces from the film, debossed patterns and materials such as silver paper and blind and metallic stamping were used. The dramatic reveal for the lid and base was inspired by the sliding locking doors on the many spaceships from the films. The base of the box also forms a stand for the two books.
The scale of the package is quite large at 16" by 14" and 6" thick, weighing in at twenty pounds!
